VISICS Boosts Safety and Efficiency at Eneco Delfzijl, Maintenance Shutdown

Eneco Bio Golden Raand – The Eneco Bio Golden Raand (BGR) biomass power plant in Delfzijl, the Netherlands, sustainably converts approximately 300,000 tonnes of waste wood chips into green electricity and steam every year. The waste wood used for this purpose arrives in Delfzijl by ship and truck and comes mainly from the Netherlands. In 2015, the Eneco BGR plant was the first in the world to obtain the Better Biomass certificate based on the NTA8080 standard for producing, trading or processing biomass in a sustainable way.

Wesseling, November 2019 – Last October the digital VISICS system for safe and efficient turnarounds was installed at a refinery in Wesseling. Combined with Dräger’s solutions for remote gas detection, the VISICS system was brought in to accomplish a safer and more efficient turnaround by digitally monitoring the confined spaces. No more than three days later, on October 31st 2019, the VISICS system proved its added value by preventing a potential fire.
